Maxey Poodle (Miniature) Puppy Male in Reading, Pennsylvania

My story
The 76ers may not have won - but Maxey has stolen our heart!

Maxey is a 9-week-old, merle poodle born with just one eye. Our vet believes he was born with a condition called Micropthalmus. Currently, Maxey can see well out of his left eye. However, we are unsure if he will always be able to see out of that eye.

Don't let his "disability" fool you, aside from limited peripheral vision, he is as normal and energetic as can be!

He is 6 pounds and is estimated to be a small/medium poodle.

Maxey is good with all sized dogs (he doesn't know how small he is) & cats. He has not met any children yet, but due to his small size and not being able to see perfectly, we are requiring kids above 10 who are dog-savvy. We don't want him to be startled!

Maxey is playful and a little feisty. Poodles are known to be highly intelligent; he will need a strong leader & obedience training. He is currently working on potty training, but regression is common when changing environments.

Maxey has had his first 2 rounds of vaccines, has been dewormed and is microchipped. Maxey's adopters will be required to sign a 6-month neuter contract and pay a refundable $250 deposit. Additionally, at neuter, he will need a small umbilical hernia repaired, and corrective surgery to permanently remove the small amount of tear producing structures that are still present along with the edges of the eyelids on the right eye, and to close the area. This will allow for better long term comfort.
